Dear Friends,

Fifth Annual Peoples Global Action Gathering

PGA - People's Global Action - started in 1998, it has been a tool and a
diffuse structure coordinating groups and people sharing common struggles
and practices, in accordance with various anticapitalist and
anti-authoritarian principles (see the hallmarks). PGA initiated the
Intercontinental caravan in 1999, as well as international action days of
actions against the G8, the WTO, the World Bank, the IMF... In Seattle,
Genoa, Prague, and in a number of less popular events, PGA was a driving
force behind numerous actions and reflections. At the convergence of
international initiatives and local struggles, groups close to the PGA are
now looking for new drives to challenge stagnation.

Call to Support for Our Action Against the G8
Development Ministerial Meeting in Tokyo:
Stop G8! Solidarity March in the South and the North

The Japanese government will host some Ministerial meetings before the
G8summit in Toyako in July. As a part of the meetings, the G8
DevelopmentMinisterial Meeting is planned in Tokyo on 5-6 April. Those
kinds ofMeetings had been held around the same time as the IMF and the
WorldBank's annual meetings before 2002. This shows that the Meeting has
beenstrongly influenced by major powers and big businesses.

G8 countries and transnational companies promoted 'development' in
poorcountries, but it causes various problems everywhere such as abuse
ofhuman rights, illegitimate debts, and global warming. Nonetheless,
theJapanese government the host country does not think seriously about
thepast failures.

Ruckus Society Stages Golden Gate Bridge "Free Tibet" Demonstration

Hello Ruckus Family,

I write right now with the utmost pride. Right now three activists, including one of our beloved Ruckutistas, are climbing up the suspension cables of the Golden Gate Bridge in an action to support Tibetan independence.

San Francisco is the only city hosting the torch in the United States, and Students for a Free Tibet are responding. The message is clear and visionary: FREE TIBET!!!

mirage. Yet, these images hide a reality much more profound, inspiring,
and courageous.

There is a proud tradition of women who have refused to accept subordinate
roles to their families or to the state. Whether organizing rent strikes
